“Writing isn’t just a job that stops at six thirty… It’s a mad, sexy, sad, scary, ruthless, joyful, and utterly, utterly personal thing. There’s not the writer and then me; there’s just me. All of my life connects to the writing. All of it.”—Russell T. Davies (via writingadvice)
They say you shouldn’t read over your writing until you’ve finished, you shouldn’t share it with others until complete, you shouldn’t start unless you have an ending and so on and so forth. The list goes on…
But don’t they also say there aren’t any rules? I take any advice when it comes to writing and slowly I’ve learned that as long as there are no rules then I can write till my heart’s content. Encouragement is all I need.
And so, as I sit here with a fresh blank page in front of me, letting my thoughts take me wherever they please, not bothering to pay attention to them either way, for I am a lost soul. Am I foolish for letting stories take over my life, have I gone insane? I can’t tell whether my mind is too full or too empty, is there even a difference?
People ask me why I write and I honestly don’t know why. All it brings is pain and heartache, but it’s all worth it in the end. I don’t know, I just know that I enjoy it too much to let it go.
Oh Meriem, what have you done? Where are you going with all this? /sigh
Can’t wait to see my family, I miss them terribly! Same with the food, I need my grandma’s sksou (couscous) right now!!
But I’m gonna miss going through all your quality posts, you guys, but don’t worry, I’ll be popping up here and there ‘liking’ the shit out of all of your posts. Gotta keep updated with somethings and so on.
Hope all of you have a lovely summer and I’ll make sure to post as many pictures as I can when I get the chance :)
You should def visit Fez. And if you have time, maybe spend a day or two in Essaouira. A city full of Bob Marley inspired characters lol. Its unlike any city in Morocco because of its cool climate and very very laidback attitude. Casa and Essaouira are like Earth and Mars. How long are you staying?
I’ll have to see for myself then, sounds like a really cool place. I’m pretty laid back myself so it sounds perfect :)
I’m staying 2 months, long enough to be with family and go see some places too.
My brother loves orange juice too. He’ll even drink it with a steak dinner LOL.
Hahaha, nice. I’d drink orange juice with just about anything. My stomach hates me for it though d:
Just yesterday I told myself I wouldn’t take another sip of orange juice for as long as I live, ‘cause I got a tiny bit of a tummy ache from it, and here I am today with my pirate mug filled to the brim with citrusy deliciousness /sigh
